DESS is one of the most established not-for-profit schools in Dubai, delivering high quality education since first opening in 1963. With a unique history, DESS was originally established to accommodate British Embassy children. The land at its current location on Oud Metha Road was granted by HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai at the time; the main school hall named in honour of his wife and proudly called Latifa Hall. After 54 years of academic excellence, DESS engages children with a progressive irresistible curriculum and has developed a distinctively strong sense of community, which promotes active co-operation between children, parents and staff.
