The K.V. Masimpur is one of the oldest Kendriya Vidyalayas established in 1974 in the Defense sector. The Vidyalaya started with the Primary section in the old site situated in the lush green hills of Masimpur. It was run in the temporary buildings scattered over two ends of a house shoe shaped Masimpur hills which is the centre of Silchar Cantt. There are two approach roads- one from the Srikona CMP Check Post. that connects Silchar - shillong road and the other one is Kalibari CMP check post which connects Silchar Arunachal road. The environment surrounding the Vidyalaya as a whole is peaceful and Condusive for learning.
