Description
Kamrup Academy H.S. School is a coeducational provincialized institute situated near Guwahti Club M.C. Road. The school was established in the year 1930, 15th July to violate against the Cunningham Circular of British Government. The Circular was issued on May 11, 1930, by Mr. J.R. Cunningham, then D.P.I. According to the Circular, the guardians were required to give an undertaking in writing that their ward will not participate in any political activities relating to the Freedom Movement of India. The school was upgraded to Higher Secondary level during 1977 (both science and arts ) . It has facilities for vocational education for IX and X standards. At present the school is serving for the students from lower socioeconomic background from nearby areas.
