Description
Vivekananda Kendra is a spiritually oriented service organization with its headquarters at Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. On the same sanctified place where Swami Vivekananda had meditated for 3 days and 3 nights , Late Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, with the participation of millions of people of India constructed the "Vivekananda Rock Memorial" in 1970. The memorial symbolises the mission of India as seen by Swami Vivekananda in his meditation. Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade envisaged creation of an organisation also to disseminate Swami Vivekananda's vision of a glorious India. This was formed in 1972 and named Vivekananda Kendra.
