Christ School, Hassan, started in 2003 under CBSE Syllabus is an educational institution run by the catholic minority community, with all the rights and privileges granted by the constitution of India. It is run by Fathers of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.) of Mysore Province through a registered body, "St. Thomas Education Society (R.)" The Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate is the first indigenous religious order of catholic priests founded in Kerala in 1831 by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara and his associates.
