Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School has been nurturing the cause for the education of young minds over five eventful decades. The school which was started on 2nd November 1965 with only 9 students, was the brainchild of Mr. Prafulla Kumar Dasgupta and Mrs. Bharati Dasgupta. Nursed tenderly and carefully at its initial stages with the love and devotion of its founder members, the school has now further blossomed under the able guidance of Mr. Shyam Sundar Agarwal and his son Mr. Mukul Agarwal. In 1965, the school started with just a handful of students in a rented building. Today the institution boasts of three school buildings; a secondary and higher secondary section in New Alipore and primary sections in Mominpore and Behala; with nearly 4000 pupils in all three of the branches.
