The Congregation of Teresian Carmelites (CTC), the first Carmelite Indigenous Congregation of India was founded by Servant of God Mother EliswaVakayil at Koonammavu in the Diocese of Verapoly on 13th February 1866. Carmel Convent School situated in the outskirt of Nahan is a Co-educational English Medium institution affiliated to I.C.S.E. New Delhi. It is a Christian Institution run by the Congregation of the Teresian Carmelite Sisters of Lisieux Province of Jhansi, India. The Sisters residing at Carmel Convent Nahan are responsible for its functioning. It was established on 8th April 1991. Carmel Convent School comes under the jurisdiction of Shimla-Chandigarh diocese. More than 1200 students are enrolled in this institution and cocooned by the experienced 32 teachers.
