In response to a long cherished desire of the residents of Bihar Sponge Iron Limited Colony and its surroundings the Managing Director of B.S.I.L, Seth Umesh Kumar Modi a well known industrialist, philanthropist, a man devoted to education founded this co-educational institution after the name of his late mother Rai Bahadurni Dayawati Modi a great lover of education herself. Mrs. Kumkum Modi, the Vice President of the Dayawati Modi Public Schools, formally inaugurated this school on 7th May 1997.
