Description

The Salesian Province of South India needed a place for an Aspirantate for boys from the Mumbai and Goa Regions. Not many parents were willing to sacrifice sending their sons to ‘far away’ Tirupattur. Fr. Mauro Casarotti, first sensed this reluctance and understood the problem. He floated Lonavala as the place for the Aspirantate and in June 1962 approval for Stds. 8th and 9th was granted. As the house was not ready, Mr. D.C. Nazir offered the Salesians the use of his bungalow.
