Description
GHSS Periye had its origin as an Elementary School in 1913 under the Southcanara district board. It was elevated to a Higher Elementary School in 1949, High School in 1957 and in 2004 as a Higher Secondary School. The parents and public of the region took keen interest in the development and upgradation of the school. The first building to start the school in 1913 was constructed by Maliyakal Kelu Patelar, the building to run the Higher Elementary classes was constructed by Melath Malingu Nair in 1949. The High school classes started in a temporary building constructed by the public. Soon after becoming High school, the classes from first to fourth standard were separated as Lower Primary Schoo
