Description
The inspiration to have an institute of our own came from his Lordship Bishop Lumen Monteiro, the Bishop of Agartala. The inspiration was reflected upon in the council and the idea was taken up by the then Provincial Superior Sr. Edleburgh. A resident of Dharmanagar named Purnendu Chakraborty was the first man who repeatedly requested to open a missionary English medium school in Dharmanagar as there was only one school in the locality ‘Golden Valley’ which was not satisfying the needs of the parents as the children were unable to speak English. The first school was started on 9th January 1999 in the cement store room of Purnendu Chakraborty a rented building with Sr Gretta as the Principal and Sr. Janet and Christita were the first teacher for the little ones.
