Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kottayam is a Co-educational Pace Setting Residential Institution governed by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti,an autonomous body under Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.It was established in the academic year 1987-1988 and has completed more than 26 years of its meritorious service in the field of school education.The National Policy on Education 1986 envisages establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in each district of the Country. This is a unique experiment unparalleled in the annuals of School Education in India and elsewhere. The basic objectives of these Vidyalayas are to provide access to quality education to the children especially from rural areas.
