Moved by a vision of establishing a center of education and culture, where he would dedicate himself to molding the character of our youth, Sri K.V Raman Nair established the High School, Shoranur on 10th June 1931 for the benefit of the people of Shoranur and suburbs, where there was no facility for Secondary Education. From a humble beginning, the institution has grown from strength to strength and has 32 teachers and around 1200 pupils on the roll now. In 1956, the Silver Jubilee of the school was celebrated in a fitting manner. Dr. B.Rmakrishna Rao, the first Governor of Kerala inagurated the function and the cultural programme was provided by Guru Gopinath.
