The Kendriya Vidyalaya at the Air Force Station, Salua is one of the Vidyalayas of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan set up by the MInistry of Education Govt. of India. It is a defence sector institution which was established in 1986, primarily to cater the educational needs of the children of the defence personnel's as well as the floating population of the area. The Vidyalaya of Kharagpur cluster is situated in the Radar Unit of the Air Force Station Salua at a distance of about 15 kms. from the Kharagpur Railway Station. One would be bewildered at the meteoric rise of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Salua since 20-06-2001 which was an un-heard name and an unknown existence before. Being situated at a distance of 15 kms from the heart of Kharagpur township it was considered.
