The school was founded in 1995 and it bears the name of Late Pramila Roychoudhuri, wife of Late Manomohan Roychoudhuri, a great teacher, mathematician, philanthropist was instrumental in spreading education, founded schools for girls and donated abundantly to many educational institutions. His worthy daughter-in-law Smt. Gouri Roychouduri, MA(Eng & Phil) B.T. an ex-renowned teacher and headmistress and educationist followed his footsteps and established this school for spread of proper English education, which is much of a necessity under present day environment.
