Pt. Nagesh Dutt Mishra (1888-1953) was born at Bhenbhaura in Pratapgarh, U.P. to Pt. Brijmohan Mishra, an orthodox Brahmin. Pt.Nagesh Dutt inherited some of his father’s qualities belonging to the line of Sanskrit Scholars. He was sent to Varanasi in the quest for enlightenment Sanskrit Vangmay. At the Insistence of the then Raja of Dhingvas, he joined the Sanskrit Pathshala there, devoting himself to teaching. His zeal knew no bounds and he was so deeply involved that he used to teach even on the way from and to the Pathshala. He was a true Guru. His significant contribution soon gained acclaim.
