Description
We started (re)building schools in 2015 directly after the earthquake. At that time, thousands of schools had collapsed or were unusable due to avalanches, and neither the government nor the local communities had the money to rebuild them.Unfortunately, infrastructure is also a general problem. Even today, the illiteracy rate in remote areas of Nepal is around 50%, and even higher for women. Many children have to walk for hours to get to school, others sit on the floor because there is not enough space or suitable furniture.
