As you drive out of the Puducherry city to the old port city of Cuddalore, you will not miss the Vruksha – Ariyankuppam Montessori school on the first floor of a commercial complex opposite to the Srinivasa Flats. The school does have a good lengthy building with a very spacious, pillarless hall and a small kitchen for the kids. Ariyankuppam is the new name for Aricamedu and was one of the early settlements and had been a fishing village in the area. It is also famous for the Mortimer Wheeler’s excavations in the 1940s. The building on which the school is housed is located on the extended banks of the Sankaraparani river.
